There is a misconception about rent to own contracts.  If you enter into one, you are not required to pay the entire contracted amount.  As a rent to own customer you renew the contract with each payment and there is never an obligation or requirement to make all the payment. If life changes, you can return the product and all you are out is the rent you have paid for the time you use the product.  It really is a very flexible arrangement.
